Television is dangerous because it destroys family life and any sense of community; instead of visiting people or talking with our family, we just watch television. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

It has been said that television disturbs family life and community bonds, causing family relationships to weaken and common people to become naive of their surroundings. In my opinion, anything becomes risky when you allow it to dominate you.

No doubt, more use of television diminishes the family relationship among family members. Famous author Marie Winn argues that television is not a good asset in homes because it complicates relationships and family rituals. The relationships bonds decreased due to many television sets in a house. With many television sets, family members are more attentive to the television than communicating with each other. Moreover, television can “traumatize children.” The impact television has on society hinders the ability of many to recognize the dangers that come from it. Negative outcomes from too much screen time at a young age include obesity, irregular sleep patterns, and behavioral problems, even impair academic performance. Due to the conclusions drawn from research and observational studies, one can support the claim that young children watching television obtains far more downfalls such as health problems, behavior abnormalities, and unfit lifestyles than benefits such as convenience.

School children today take part in work experience sessions for short periods instead of attending school? Is this a positive or negative development?

However, there are some ideas to tackle these negativities of television. The whole family can sit together to watch television and enjoy meals of the day. Especially, It allows parents to guide their kids for television program selections, according to the American Academy of Paediatrics. Further, in terms of community bonds, studies have shown that television competes with other sources of human interaction such as family, friends, church, and school. It helps young people to develop values and form ideas about the world around them. It influences the way that people think about such important social issues as race, gender, and class.

To conclude, although television is dangerous for family and community, it depends has some benefits. The only need to understand there should not be the misuse of such devices.

Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or storage of money. Others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
