The idea of renting or owning a home varies from country to country or person to person. As in developed countries, the majority pays rent to live. However, both scenarios have their importance that shall be discussed in upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, people who frequently migrate from one place to another in terms of business or job, give more preference to rented apartments. One of the benefits of renting a home is that there are no maintenance costs or repair bills. The landlord holds these responsibilities. Another benefit of renting is more flexibility as to where to live. Renters can live practically anywhere, while homeowners are restricted to areas where they can afford to buy. For example, living in an expensive city such as New York might be out of reach for most home buyers, but it might be possible for renters.

Moreover, the Insurance and utility Costs are lower in rented apartments as per the size of it. While homeowners need to maintain a homeowner’s insurance policy, the equivalent for renters is a renter’s insurance policy, which is much cheaper and covers nearly everything owned, including furniture, computers, and valuables. With pressure on today’s young people to succeed academically, some people believe that non-academic subjects should be removed from the syllabus so that the children can concentrate wholly on academic subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

On the other hand, people who live in a single place for a lifetime prefer to have their property. Because, Home ownership brings intangible benefits, such as a sense of stability, belonging to a community, and pride of ownership. It also gives a sense of emotional security without any compromise. After a long day at work coupled with the tiresome commute and continual stress, returning to your own nest brings alive a sense of security and comfort. Besides this, one can take tax benefits on a home loan to build own assets.

To conclude, both aspects of renting and owning have great importance. But, it depends accordingly on that how long a person wants to stay in a similar place or how often he migrates.
